Important Annoucement

Dear Parker Paws Community,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Parker Paws, effective December 31, 2024. After 17 years of dedicated service to the animals and families in our community, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations. This decision was not made lightly, and it comes after extensive deliberation and consideration of our current resources and the sustainability of our programs.

Since our inception in 2007, Parker Paws has been committed to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming almost 3,000 pets and provided low or no cost spay and neuters to over 1,000 pets in our community since the start of our Spay Neuter Incentive Program (SNIP) in 2020. We are incredibly proud of the work we have accomplished together, and we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support from our volunteers, donors, adopters, and community partners. Your generosity and dedication have made it possible for us to make a difference in the lives of so many pets!

As you know, we closed our foster program in 2022 and partnered with Allie’s Haven Animal Rescue in 2023, transferring our remaining foster pet and foster homes to them. This allowed our fosters an opportunity to get back to doing what they are passionate about, saving lives and finding pets forever families! With that partnership, Allie’s Haven also agreed to accept adoption returns, giving previous adopters an alternative to surrendering their pets to a shelter.

Our remaining resources and funds will be responsibly allocated to other animal welfare organizations in our community that share our mission and values. We are currently pursuing a nonprofit organization to assume our SNIP program with starter funding which will allow them to continue to provide this much needed service in our community. Once an agreement is reached and a transition planned, we will make an announcement to ensure transparency and accountability.

We understand that this news may be disappointing, and we share in your sadness. However, we believe that the legacy of Parker Paws will live on through the many lives we have touched and the positive impact we have made. We encourage you to continue supporting animal welfare initiatives and to stay involved with other local organizations dedicated to this important cause. Following are a few suggestions:

On behalf of the Board of Directors and volunteers of Parker Paws, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your support and partnership over the years. Together, we have made a significant difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Our commitment to making a difference in our community is still our top priority!
